To receive earnings from selling content on PinotBlog, you need to set up a payout account.

How Earnings Work

Reader purchases your content

70% of the sale becomes your earnings

Account Setup Steps

Step 1: Access the Payout Account Setup Page

  1. Log in to PinotWalk
  2. Click "Revenue Dashboard" from the user menu in the top right
  3. Click the "Set Up Payout Account" button

Step 2: Select Your Country

  1. Select the country where your bank account is located from the Country dropdown

    • Example: If you live in Japan and use a Japanese bank account → Select "Japan"
    • Example: If you live in the US and use a US bank account → Select "United States"
  2. Check the terms of service checkbox

    • "I agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement"
  3. Click the "Continue to Stripe Setup" button

⚠️ Note: Once you select a country, it cannot be changed later. Please choose carefully.

Step 3: Stripe Connect Onboarding

You will be redirected to Stripe's setup page.

Step 4: Wait for Verification

  • Verification typically completes within a few hours to 1 business day
  • After verification, return to PinotWalk's Revenue Dashboard to see the "Verified" status

Step 5: Request a Payout

Once your earnings reach $50 or more, you can request a payout.

  1. Access the Revenue Dashboard
  2. Check your Available Balance (e.g., $150.00)
  3. Click the "Request Payout" button
  4. Enter the payout amount (minimum $50.00 up to your Available Balance)
  5. Click "Submit"

→ Funds will arrive in your bank account within 3-5 business days!


FAQ

Q1. I registered the wrong country for my payout account

A: Once registered, the country cannot be changed. Please follow these steps to re-register:

  1. Contact support (support@pinotwalk.com)
  2. An administrator will delete your existing account
  3. Select the correct country again from "Set Up Payout Account"

Q2. What is the minimum payout amount?

A: $50.00 USD. This is the minimum amount in USD, regardless of exchange rates.

Examples:

  • For Japan: Approximately ¥7,500 (at an exchange rate of 150 JPY/USD)
  • For Eurozone: Approximately €46 (at an exchange rate of 1.09 EUR/USD)

Q3. Are there payout fees?

A: PinotWalk covers the payout fees. There is no cost to you.

However, your bank may charge the following fees:

  • International wire transfer receiving fee (typically ¥1,000-3,000 for Japanese banks)
  • Currency conversion fee

Q4. Can I receive payouts in Japanese Yen?

A: Yes! If you select Japan, Stripe will automatically convert USD to JPY when sending the payout.

Stripe's exchange rate is applied (typically close to the market rate).

Q5. When are payouts processed?

A: After you submit a payout request, an administrator manually approves it. Processing typically occurs within 1 business day, followed by 3-5 business days for funds to arrive in your bank account.

Q6. Can I register a corporate bank account?

A: Yes, it's possible. Select "Corporation" during Stripe onboarding and prepare the following:

  • Certificate of incorporation
  • Identity verification document for the representative
  • Corporate number
  • Corporate bank account information

Q7. Do I need to file taxes?

A: Yes, earnings are taxable.

  • Japan: Must be reported as miscellaneous income or business income in your tax return
  • United States: Subject to 1099 form (for annual earnings of $600 or more)

PinotWalk plans to provide annual earnings reports in the future.

Q8. Can I register multiple bank accounts?

A: No, only one payout account per PinotWalk account can be registered.

If you need to change it, please contact support.

Q9. Does Stripe or PinotWalk manage my bank information?

A: Stripe manages it. PinotWalk does not store any of your bank account information.

All personal and financial information is protected by Stripe's secure system.

Q10. What if my verification fails?

A: Please check the following:

  • Are your identity documents clear?
  • Is your address information accurate?
  • Is your business description clear?
  • Is your bank account information correct?

If verification fails, Stripe will send you an email explaining the reason. Make corrections and resubmit.


Troubleshooting

Problem: "Your payout account must be verified" Error

Cause: Stripe verification has not yet completed

Solution:

  1. Check if you've received a verification completion email from Stripe
  2. If you have, reload PinotWalk's Revenue Dashboard
  3. If not, wait a few more hours

Problem: "Payout account does not have payouts enabled" Error

Cause: Stripe account setup is incomplete

Solution:

  1. Access the Stripe Dashboard (https://dashboard.stripe.com/connect/accounts)
  2. Check the status of your Connect account
  3. If any information is missing, provide the additional details

Problem: Payout requested but funds haven't arrived

Cause 1: Still processing

  • Please wait 3-5 business days

Cause 2: Bank account information is incorrect

  • Check your account information in the Stripe Dashboard
  • Contact support if corrections are needed

Cause 3: Payout failed

  • Check "Payout History" in PinotWalk's Revenue Dashboard
  • If the status is "Failed," check the error message

Problem: Selected the wrong country

Solution:
Contact support (support@pinotwalk.com) with the following information:

  • Your username
  • The correct country
  • Request to delete your existing account

After an administrator deletes it, register again with the correct country.

Problem: Onboarding page won't display

Cause: Browser cookies may be blocked

Solution:

  1. Check your browser's cookie settings
  2. Disable private browsing mode
  3. Try a different browser
